Welcome to the Office of Zoning and Code Enforcement for the Borough of Sea Girt.
The Borough of Sea Girt Zoning Official is responsible for reviewing all zoning permit applications for compliance to the Sea Girt Borough land use regulations. Prior to undertaking any improvements to your property or any of the structures, you should consult with the Zoning Officer to see if your project requires a zoning permit and zoning approvals.
Zoning permits are required for new construction on a property, installation of a pool, renovations to an existing home such as adding a habitable floor to an existing structure or expanding the existing footprint of any structure. Additional zoning permit approvals are needed for any landscaping where one renovates, modifies, removes, or adds to any impervious surfaces such as a driveway, walkway, or adding a patio.
The Borough of Sea Girt Code Enforcement Officers are responsible for the enforcement of all Borough Ordinances related to the maintenance of properties within our Borough. This includes all construction sites, vacant lots, and all residential and commercial properties. The Code Enforcement Officers are also responsible for property inspections for all properties for rentals and sales within the Borough.
Please Note: As of January 1, 2019, the Borough of Sea Girt will no longer accept paper applications for any rental or home sale certificate of occupancy requests. See below for our on-line applications.
Mr. Willms’ office hours are Wednesday from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Thursday 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. He can also be reached at 732.449.9433, ext. 118.
